Founder of GoForth Institute, Dr. Roberts was also founder of Mercatus Research Ltd., a market research consulting firm serving the needs of small and emerging businesses. Her success in these fields, as well as her record of mentorship to individuals establishing real business ventures, makes her one of Canada's leading experts in entrepreneurship and small business guidance. This is what Dr. Roberts has been up to:
- 14 years as an instructor and mentor at the University of Calgary's Haskayne School of Business (entrepreneurship, marketing and marketing research)
- Lecturer at Mount Royal University's Bissett School of Business
- Ongoing consultant to government and industry (home-based business and micro-enterprise development)
- PhD in Management specializing in entrepreneurship and corporate strategy (the first PhD awarded in Canada with a focus on entrepreneurship)
- University of Calgary Stew Fairbanks Memorial Award winner for Scholarship in Entrepreneurship
- MBA in entrepreneurship and new venture development
- Winner of Julius Schulich Award for Entrepreneurship for her master's thesis on home-based businesses
Dr. Roberts' research has been published in scholarly publications in Canada and the United States. Her latest research involving entrepreneurial psychology is published in the Journal of Small Business and Entrepreneurship (JSBE) in fall, 2010.
