In 1999, Rivers started Rent-A-Chef "The Culinary Adventure Company" with Chef Danny Bower (graduate of the famous Culinary Institute of America), after reading an article in Profit Magazine about chefs providing specialized personal services for clients in their homes. With only $3,000 in start-up capital, he and Chef Bower took this idea and built a $1,000,000 chef business in just four years.
Today, rebranded as The Chef Group, the company operates throughout North America with a team of over 2,500 chefs, offering clients numerous culinary solutions that continue to expand above and beyond the original premise on which the company was founded. Recently, recognized by Profit Magazine as one of the Top 100 Fastest Growing Companies in Canada, The Chef Group is a wonderful example of how you can succeed by taking a risk!
An award-winning entrepreneur, author and business coach, Rivers holds a BComm degree from Mount Allison University, Sackville, New Brunswick and an MBA from the University of New Brunswick, Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada.
