Steve Major
Partner, Bennett Jones LLP
Steve represents individuals and corporations on litigation matters including commercial and contractual disputes, civil fraud recovery, construction, personal injury (head of the firm's practice group), and criminal defense work.
Steve appears before administrative tribunals and all levels of courts in Alberta, including the Alberta Court of Appeal. Prior to joining the firm, he clerked at both the Court of Appeal and Court of Queen’s Bench of Alberta as part of his articles with the former Chief Justice, the Honourable W.K. Moore.
Steve is an associate member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, the Past President of the Calgary Bar Association, and an active member of the Canadian Bar Association's Civil Law and Personal Injury sections.
He is co-chair of the annual Calgary Flames Ambassador Charity Texas Hold 'Em Poker Tournament and a member of both the Calgary Stampede Courtesy Car Committee and the Calgary Grey Cup Committee. He is an avid golfer, jogger, and mediocre (but enthusiastic) hockey player.
