Advertising and PR

  • How do I advertise a non-profit organization?

Sarah Geddes

Advertising and PR

Here are a few guidelines to follow when marketing for a Non-profit:

    1. Identify the market you wish to serve or attract and decide on a compelling message to grad their attention - consider posing a question that is relevant

    2. Explicitly or implicitly specify your objectives - non-profit organizations are expected to provide a service that responds to a need in the community, so you're responsible for determining how you can service that need and generate enough expenses to cover your costs

    3. Develop and manage the programs you're going to provide

    4. Decide on prices to charge or fees, donations, rates to accept

    5. Schedule events and programs and determine where services will be offered

    6. Communicate these events and programs via brochures, signs, public service announcements and advertisements
