Ask a GoForth Expert

Start-up

  • I am in the start-up stage of an e-commerce handbag business. Where can I find a mentor to help me?

You might want to consider an advisory board - rather than a single mentor. An advisory board is comprised of individuals who have a range of skills and experience - in law, accounting, marketing, finance, and so on.

Ask around in your business network - you may find someone with directly relevant experience to your handbag business. Advisory board members are usually not compensated for their time helping you, so be respectful of their time commitment. Be clear about what you would like from them and how much time they might be expected to devote to your business.
