Business Law

Do I need business liability insurance, or can I just have my customers sign a liability disclaimer?

Having business insurance is normally not a requirement of law. That said, doing business without liability insurance is risky.

Liability disclaimers and waivers don't always hold up, so you can't rely on them entirely to release you from any product or service liability. So that you don't get caught short, it's strongly advised for you to have insurance in place to cover liability claims-- in addition to a signed liability waiver.
